Cutting thick rubber presents a particular challenge to slitting / cutting machines – depending on the type of rubber being slit the forces exerted on the cutting section of the machine can be far greater than that used when cutting other materials. These extraordinary forces inform the design choices made on a wide range of components including brakes, motors and knife systems.
The Universal X1 and X5 Slitter Rewinders are ideally suited to rubber cutting. Crush cut knife assemblies and specially ground knives on our slitters can effectively cut rubber with a thickness of up to 7.5mm.
